Business
Breakfast
“Getting On The Right Side of History:
How CSR Is Reshaping Thinking About The Role
of Business And Sustainable Development”
Paul Hohnen will be the keynote speaker in
a business breakfast at Melbourne Aquarium
on October 30th 2007. The breakfast will be
moderated by Leon Gettler, Senior Business
Journalist at The Age and chaired by Dr Leeora
Black, Managing Director of ACCSR.
Drawing on his extensive international experience
as an analyst and adviser to business, governments,
the UN and NGOs, Paul Hohnen will identify
some of the characteristics necessary for successful
business in the 21st Century.
This breakfast is essential for managers and
analysts who want to keep up to date with international
thinking in CSR and sustainability. Fresh from
his “by-invitation” presentation
to a ministerial roundtable at the Global Compact
Leaders Summit in July, Paul will describe
the key implications of the changing CSR landscape
for businesses, NGOs and investors.

issues facing the advocacy community. The Masterclass
will also include a special presentation by
an Australian NGO.
Paul Hohnen
is well known in international NGO circles
for his work as Political Director of Greenpeace
International (1993-1997) and in setting up

that lay behind the attention given by the
2007 G8 Summit to CSR issues. He will also
discuss how governments around the world are
using varied approaches to encourage increased
use of CSR by the business community. Paul’s
work in this area has been referenced in “How
to Lobby at Intergovernmental Meetings,” Felix
Dodds, Earthscan, 2004 and “Multistakeholder
Processes for Governance and Sustainability” Minu

Reporting. John has worked extensively with
government agencies and multinational organisations
