Update: ACCSR Turning Point Conference

ACCSR is proud to announce that The Hon. Chris Pearce MP, Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer, has accepted an invitation to be one of our key note speakers in the closing session of the Turning Point conference in February.

Mr Pearce, who was elected to Federal Parliament in 2001, has held the position of Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer since 2004. He has responsibilities in the development of policy in the Financial Markets, Corporate Governance, Foreign Investment, and Competition and Consumer Policy areas. In 2005 Mr Pearce referred the issue of directors’ duties and corporate social responsibility to the Corporations and Markets Advisory Committee (CAMAC), which has recently released its report.

Those selected for these roles will be offered complimentary places to the Turning Point conference.

If you are interested in being a reporter at the Turning Point conference please forward your details as soon as possible to workshop@accsr.com.au, marked attention to Dr Leeora Black. Individuals selected for the reporter roles will be notified in January.

Regrettably ACCSR is not able to meet the travelling costs for reporters.

CAMAC REVIEW

The Corporations and Markets Advisory Committee released its long-anticipated report called “The Social Responsibility of Corporations” in December with the main finding of the report supporting existing legal instruments as the basis for corporate attention to, and disclosure of, non-financial risks.
