Communicating
CSR Workshop
This two-day workshop, that teaches the essentials
of CSR communications, is vital for all managers
who have the challenge of credibly communicating
their organisation’s CSR actions and
policies. The central dilemma of CSR communications
is that if you talk about it, stakeholders
are often cynical, but if you don’t talk
about it, how will they know?
Participants will hear case studies from Westpac,
Rio Tinto and McDonald’s on how they
have communicated their CSR strategies to three
different sets of stakeholders:
- Consumers
Emma Herd, Senior Advisor,
Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability
at Westpac will describe the thinking behind
Westpac’s ground-breaking CSR advertising
campaign and the amazing results it has produced.
Workshop participants will consider the implications
of Westpac’s experience to develop
a checklist of the conditions under which
a company can run a credible CSR advertising
campaign.
- Employees
Karin Lorenzon, Principal Advisor Corporate
Relations Rio Tinto will describe how a
leading global company communicates its
CSR and sustainability strategy to employees
around the world.
- Specialist groups
Kristene
Mullen, Vice President and Director of Public
Affairs at McDonald’s Australia Limited
will describe the strategy and the initiatives
behind five years of learning with some of
McDonald’s
most critical stakeholders – health
professionals.
