It
was with great pleasure that ACCSR hosted
the Turning Point Conference at Westpac
on February 5. This event, attended by
150 people, was an overwhelming success,
delivering thought-provoking discussion
and insights into the domestic and international
CSR policy issues and trends confronting
all organisations.
Summaries of the Turning Point proceedings,
as well as speeches, photos and a delegate
list are available via the ACCSR website.

ACCSR would like to thank all speakers,
sponsors, volunteers and delegates to
the conference for your support and attendance.
We look forward to making an ongoing
contribution to the development of CSR
in Australia.
ASX REVIEW OF CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
PRINCIPLES
ACCSR has tendered its submission to
the ASX Review of Corporate Governance
Principles. We argued that guidance to
corporations on sustainability/corporate
responsibility reporting, especially
related to disclosure of material social
and environmental risks, is within the
purview of the ASX Corporate Governance
Council. We advocated adoption by the
Council of Option B (presented in its
discussion paper), introducing an “if
not, why not?” reporting requirement
in Principle 7 with guidance, involving
additional reporting obligations for
companies.
